Summer Exhibition

A Festschrift for Bronsky

30 June - 31 July 2026

Old and Interesting’s summer exhibition: A Festschrift for Bronsky will be open from the 30th of June 2026, on the second floor at 44 Great Russell Street, London.

Old and Interesting Art presents a summer exhibition celebrating the life of Dr. Hubert Bronsky (1930–2026). The late Dr. Bronsky, a noted collector of visionary and outlier art, is remembered through a selection of artworks drawn both from his estate and by the artists he championed; alongside artists who share an otherwise view of reality.

Psychologist, collector, philanthropist, writer and lizard conservationist, Bronsky was a key figure on the European artistic scene and a fixture of North London literary circles. He moved through the world with a distracted grace, and embodied a Mitteleuropean way of thinking. His passions ranged from dream analysis to South African contemporary art, and to the protection of habitats for several rare species of reptile – foremost among them the Lesser-spotted Sally Lizard.

This exhibition celebrates Bronsky’s love for art that exists beyond the critical and institutional mainstream. In the words of Paul Klee, these artists seek to ‘make secret visions visible.’
